Armed Middleton is a junior at Sunlake High School who has joined the Yearbook team this year. He is most interested in the visual side of yearbook, involving things like photography.
When signing up for classes for 2023, Armed did not think he would be placed in yearbook. He says, “I was put here purely by accident since I thought I would be put in Digital Design 1, but they placed me in Yearbook instead.” Although it was not his initial intention to join, he decided to stay because he “…viewed it as a challenge that [he] wanted to tackle.” Armed expresses interest in taking photos and designing spreads and says that he prefers to cover topics that involve student life and academics.
Anyone who has met Armed can see that he has a clear knack for art. He mostly does illustrations of cartoon characters in his free time and he is a member of the National Art Honors Society (NAHS). The NAHS is a nationwide group of distinguished art students and provides students with peer recognition, leadership opportunities, and college and career preparation. “I heard they’re having their first meeting on October 2nd,” Armed said. Anyone can see that Armed is imaginative and artistically gifted. He says he does not have a least favorite class as they are all very enjoyable, but his favorite is art due to his interests.
Armed acknowledges that yearbook will be a brand new and challenging experience, but he is overall looking forward to this new learning experience and letting his creativity blossom through the art of photography and design.
