Mia Lanier, a Junior at Sunlake Highschool, has spent some of her time after school helping create and direct skit. Mia is on of the directors in charge of skit and is also playing a role as on of the main Surfers. This years theme for skit is “Seahawks at Sea” so there are characters such as pirates, lifeguards and surfers. Mia said she does skit, ” to be more involved in school.” She has been helping with and doing skit for the past two years, this year making it her third. Mia said, “My favorite part about skit is when everyone has their costumes, and we get to run through it one more time before presenting it.” Her least favorite part about being apart of skit is trying to get everyone’s full attention and also make them rehearse their lines for skit. Skit is a lot of work and takes a lot of time, the students need at least 3 weeks to finish rehearsing and complete all the backdrops. Although Mia enjoys doing skit, she is not quite sure if she will be participating for her senior year. She said, “Skit takes up a lot of my time and it can be stressful at some points.” It all depends on what the theme is next year and if she has enough free time.
