While most freshman use their freshman year to get to know people and adjust to the huge change from middle school to high school, Trenton Lindsey is diving head first into Sunlake’s athletics program. Trenton says, “My activities are football and wrestling. Both come easy to me and teach me lesson’s as they present wins and losses. Sports are important to me because they’ve helped me become an overall better person, thinker, and student even though I’ve only played football for two years and started wrestling this year. I think the sports I play definitely aren’t for everyone because they are actually pretty demanding and very stressful at times keeping up with school… along with possibility of injury. But I will say though that the benefits outweigh the negatives. These sports introduce you to a spectrum of people—[they] may set a goal you have to meet, [they] may require you to work harder, and [they] keeps you disciplined and on track with your goals because you won’t be able to do the things you love if your grades are bad or if you get in trouble a lot.” Trenton has big goals and has made his way to being a top athlete at Sunlake being a proud Seahawk and soaring to success.
