Miley Falby, a senior at Sunlake Highschool, decided to make her parking spot stand out by painting a character from her favorite childhood show, Tom and Jerry. She chose to paint Tom the cat because the show has always been a big part of her life. “It was one of my favorite shows growing up,” Miley said. “I wanted to do something original that not many people had done before.”
It took Miley and her best friends, Nolan and Annabelle, along with her mom, two full days to complete the painting. Surprisingly, Miley found painting Tom the cat to be the easiest part. “I never realized how long and tedious the wording and hearts would be,” she admitted. Her favorite part of the painting was Tom’s character. “He’s funny and goofy with his tongue sticking out, and I feel like that really represents me.”
Miley enjoyed the process not just for the final result but for the time spent with her friends and mom. It was a great bonding experience, and she loved talking with them while they worked on the parking spot. The finished parking spot wasn’t just a decoration—it was a reflection of her personality and a cherished memory with loved ones while also going back to her childhood times when she watched Tom and Jerry.
