Becoming a senior comes with a lot of new experiences. Not only are you starting a new chapter in your life, but you get introduced to many new activities. Senior Sunrise and Grad Bash are really fun, but there’s a simpler right of passage most Seniors take, and that’s painting their parking spots. Senior, Lily Hatcher has painted her parking spot, and she agrees that it’s one of the most fun experiences she’s ever had. Lily has had an idea for her parking spot for a while now, and she finally got to bring her idea into reality. “I painted the words ‘this driver is listening to Taylor Swift’ and did some of her album colors for the background,” Lily explained. “I’m usually listening to Taylor Swift so I wanted to put something related to that on my spot.” Even though Lily’s idea for her parking spot has been set in stone for a while, she thinks that she’s changed quite a bit since her Freshman year. “I think I have changed a lot, I switched schools and had to start fresh with friends,” she said. Lily explained that she was really concerned with what would happen when she was a senior, and it was exciting and almost scary knowing that she’s now a senior and gets to see how the year will play out. Lily also didn’t know how the parking spot painting was going to go when she started. “It went better than I expected, literally all thanks to my sister who free handed the lettering,” she joked. Despite her low confidence at the start of painting, Lily says that it was really fun. “It was fun, I had my sister Sara there to help me cause she is much more artistic than me. It was also extremely hot outside but I got a little tan from it!” she laughed. Overall, Lily is overjoyed with how her parking spot turned out, and she thought it was a great start to a great senior year.
