Allister Boostrom is a Senior at Sunlake, and he decided to participate in PBIS week. PBIS week is a week for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. It’s a week to promote positive behavior within schools and school environments. Allister decided to participate every single day of PBIS week except for tie-dye/hippie day because he did not have any hippie clothes. Allister thought it would be fun to participate in PBIS week because he felt it would be fun to wear something different to school than he would normally get to wear. Allister used the movie Lilo and Stich as a reference on what to wear for surfer/beach day, because the movie is based in Hawaii, so he felt it would help him decide what to wear. When asked if he wished more people participated, Allister stated, “Yes, I wish more people participated because I was excited to see other people’s outfits.” Allister enjoyed dressing up each day and planning similar outfits to his friends. Allister’s favorite theme of the week was surfer day. Allister felt like his outfit went really well with the theme, and since he loves the beach, he felt it was fun to be able to wear those types of clothes to school. Allister enjoyed participating in PBIS spirit week.
