Last Wednesday, the Sunlake High School volleyball team won their home game against the Wiregrass Ranch Volleyball team, absolutely obliterating the competition and beating the visiting team on back-to-back sets with a final score of 3-0.
The energy from both the stands and the court was ecstatic that day as the team made play after play so smoothly that one couldn’t be blamed for almost thinking that the members of our esteemed Volleyball team are capable of reading each other’s minds. Cailyn Barnes, a member of the Varsity Team, commented, “I feel really proud of me and my team. I think we all worked hard and we were able to work together to get the wins.” Barring a few accidental hits to the head, she explains, Wednesday’s game went as well as anyone on the team could have hoped for, considering, “we won all of our games.” When asked about the team’s prospects for the rest of the season, Cailyn is very optimistic and promises that the the Sunlake Volleyball team is, “gonna work hard and hopefully get far.”
The Volleyball Season will continue throughout the rest of the quarter and support from students fans is always welcome at games. Tickets for Volleyball games cost around five dollars and are purchasable through the Gofan website.
