For the graduating class of 2025, the future is looking bright. Like many classes before them, they got to experience Senior Sunrise on the first day of school. It’s a time to come together with friends and enjoy some breakfast while the sun comes up. It’s a celebration of the last first day many of us will have. It’s also just a good time with friends before we go down our separate paths in life.
For Caleb Cueva, Senior; that path takes him to “majoring in electrical engineering” or “biomedical”. His ambitions are to correct “issues that happen going from prescription to the pharmacy”. Before all that though, Caleb has a few steps to take, including graduation and enjoying his time left here at Sunlake, which starts with Senior Sunrise. Like many people, Caleb thought it was “nice to just see close friends again”. While Caleb feels “a little nervous” about the big step he’s about to take, he is “excited to get out of high school”. To prepare, Caleb has “recently taken the SAT again”, which is sure to help his chances of getting into “UCF or USF” or his “dream school”, which is a “polytechnic”. While he “came into high school a little bit worried”, he has expanded his mind into the person he is today and would tell himself to “not care as much” about what others think.
While everyone has their path in life, it isn’t always set in stone. As we grow and change, so do our priorities and interests. Some people will take a gap year to focus on themselves while others will jump right into college, eager to begin a new chapter in their lives. Wherever the path you take leads you, remember the things from high school that shaped you. Senior Sunrise is just one of the many memories that signifies a fresh start in a new chapter of life.
