In recent months at Sunlake High School, there have been various practices for the upcoming skit. Skit is a little play for each class at Sunlake that has the opportunity to participate in. Ava Zalta, a Junior at Sunlake is participating and helping put together the junior skit. Junior’s theme for the skit is based on lifeguards saving a beach. Ava’s role is one of the pirates/ buccaneers. There are about twenty people in the skit including backdrops, practicing about 3-4 times per week occasionally calling for extra practice if there is a free day. “My favorite part about going to the practices is seeing all my friends, it is all very interactive which makes me excited every time I go,” says Ava. Although the skit has been a fun experience so far, it could sometimes be a struggle, like getting others to focus. One of the major setbacks they have been having so far is not being able to get hold of one of the portables on campus to paint. Ava is a part of the student council at Sunlake High School which helped her get a leadership position for helping organize skit stating, “I mostly try to help oversee making sure everything is being ordered and I try to help out wherever I’m needed.”
