Rey Anderson a junior at Sunlake, has been having a blast during her first period. During Ms. Latimore’s Chemistry class on Wednesday, Rey participated in a ‘Comparing density of metals lab’. For this lab they were given four unknown metals and based off the density found for each metal, they then had to guess their given metal. Earlier in the week she also did a ‘Quantitative lab’. In this lab Rey had to mix Homogenous and Heterogenous mixtures into metal to see if it was a chemical reaction or pure substance. Rey said, “I love this class, I learn more things and this class keeps me on my feet.” Such as this week when she learned how to find the mass and density of Aluminum, Zinc, Copper and Lead. Just like any other student, Rey’s least favorite part of the class is all the homework and tests given. She loves the part where she gets to mix all the elements and chemicals together and see the different reactions given. Rey loves this class, she said, “Learning about substance and the different things about matter always caught my eye”. Although this class might not be hard, you definitely need to pay attention because you learn a huge chunk of material in a short period of time.
