Last week, Jonah Romero, a senior at Sunlake High School, competed in a golf match against Zephryhills high school. Sunlake won by 149 strokes, this win impacted their overall standings for the season by setting a new team record for the current season. Jonah said he had a couple of memorable moments during the match, he stated, “On hole 7, I landed at the bottom of a hill near a pond, but I was able to chip it up onto the green and make an 8 foot putt to save myself with a par. Another moment was on hole 5, I was able to get myself a birdie by hitting a three wood by the fringe and landing a chip shot less than a foot from the hole.” One tricky part during the match, wass that it rained before they played. So the course layout affected the players strategies, he stated that, ” We had to take in account for how the ball would roll and land on the fairways, greens, roughs, and bunkers.” The fact that the course was wet was Sunlake’s and Zephryhills’s weaknesses during the match, but Sunlake’s strength was the fact they are familiar with the course layout, so they knew how to work around the weaknesses. Overall, Sunlake is very open-minded about this season being undefeated, keep it up!

I am a sophomore in Sunlake High School's yearbook, and I am a staffer for the yearbook. Which means I get assignments every other week and I have to interview someone and write basically a blog, and the assignments are literally about anything that happens during school.
