Nathaniel Peguero is a Junior at Sunlake High School and he got to attend an AP Environmental Science field trip as one of his class activities. Nathaniel was so excited to go on this field trip and miss school for a few hours. For their field trip, they went to the Energy and Marine Center in New Port Richey. Their purpose for going was to help to figure out what animals are active in which area, to see the live/dead ratio of the oysters, and to check the water to ensure it is good water for life. When asked if they learned anything at the Energy and Marine Center Nathaniel stated, “We learned that oysters live on rocks and if the rock flips over they instantly die.” The class spent about three hours at the Energy and Marine Center. When asked if he had fun on the the field trip Nathaniel stated, “The field trip was amazing and I had an amazing time and made a lot of great memories.” Nathaniel wishes they got to spend more time at the Energy and Marine Center and help out more there. Nathaniel had an amazing time on the field trip and hopes to go back again.
