Sunlake High School recently hosted its annual College Application Night, an event designed to support seniors as they prepare to take the next big step in their academic careers. Attended by students and their families, the night provided guidance on navigating the college application process.
For senior Korina Jevic, the night offered valuable insights and a sense of clarity during what can be a stressful time. “Ms. Black walked us through the often-complicated process of applying to college, with a specific focus on Florida schools,” Korina shared. “She gave us a clear and thorough understanding of what each college expects from its applicants, including the necessary test scores and other qualifications.”
In addition to learning the specifics about college requirements, Korina was especially grateful for the information on scholarships. “Ms. Black also shared her knowledge about the Bright Futures scholarship program, making sure we knew about this valuable opportunity and didn’t miss any critical deadlines,” she said.
Like many seniors, Korina is putting the final touches on her college applications while preparing for one last attempt to improve her test scores. “I’m planning to take the October SAT to try for one last score improvement. After that, I’ll be ready to submit!” she explained.
As the year progresses, Korina finds herself savoring the final moments of high school. “I can’t believe how much I’m loving my senior year of high school! It’s true what everyone says about it being such a special time,” she reflected. “Hanging out with my friends has been amazing, and we’re making the most of every single moment together. Time really does fly when you’re having fun, and it’s hard to believe that graduation is just around the corner.”
