NHS is a honors society Sunlake High School offers. NHS is open to Junior and Senior applicants with a good GPA and is involved here at Sunlake. Senior Megan Wheaton recently went to the first meeting of the year where they inducted new members, went over information on what to expect this year, and the 10 volunteer hours per semester the society upholds. Megan got inducted onto NHS her junior year of high school, making this her second year being a member. Megan loves to “participate in community service” and give back to the community she lives in. She also explains NHS offers excellent leadership roles “suitable for everyone”. NHS has a fantastic relationship with the community and helps a large amount of organizations found here locally. When asked about how she likes NHS she replied with ” I love NHS” It can help “…improve my character [and] leadership skills”. Overall, NHS is a great extracurricular to join here at Sunlake, as its very prestigious, can help people get volunteer hours, and provides the opportunity to make connections in the community.
