Friday Night Lights turned into Saturday night lights as Hurricane Helene approached the state of Florida, and Sunlake High School Junior, Brandon Lester, saw this as the perfect opportunity to ask Ella Somerville to the Sunlake Homecoming dance happening on the following Saturday. Brandon decided to plan his Homecoming proposal on the day that the Sunlake football team faced the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls. He pulled together some time to buy a make a poster that said “I’ve Been Weighting to Ask You to HOCO?” because Ella is a part of the Sunlake weightlifting team, and grab some flowers. “My reason for asking Ella to the Homecoming Dance was because I can see myself having a great time with her at Homecoming.” Brandon mentions that although he was nervous to ask her, “…The proposal went good, she means a lot to me and everyone who helped me with the proposal and watched the proposal were happy for me and very supportive as well.”  Brandon explains. On the day of Homecoming, Brandon plans to enjoy the night with his date by first getting food before and then going to a party after.
