Josie Deats, a freshman in the class of 2028 at Sunlake High School, has embraced her first year of high school with enthusiasm, particularly through her involvement in Skit. As a newcomer both to high school and to Skit, Josie quickly found that being part of the group was an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Through Skit, she formed meaningful friendships and felt right at home with her fellow performers. The atmosphere was fun, supportive, and filled with energy, making it easy for her to settle in. Josie didn’t find being in Skit difficult; rather, it was an exciting opportunity for her to express herself and enjoy the process of acting. She said, “My favorite part of Skit was having fun and acting out all the scenes. Every moment of her time in Skit was something she cherished. Whether it was rehearsing lines, working on scenes, or simply laughing with her new friends, Josie found joy in every aspect. She states, “I made a few new friends along the way and it was fun working with them each week.” Her favorite part of being in Skit was the sheer fun of it—getting to act out scenes and be part of something creative and collaborative. The experience has allowed her to grow both personally and socially, and she looks forward to more fun and adventures in Skit in the years to come.
