Homecoming week events are exciting activities full of school spirit, including powderpuff. Freshman Ellie Perez describes her excitement about participating in the event this year. She exclaims, “My first Powderpuff was a great experience and was really fun, my favorite part was playing football with my friends and watching the boys dance!”
Although many see Powderpuff as fun and games, it takes much preparation. Ellie expresses how practices went well but she wished they had more practices leading up to the game. Regardless, she says, “My team tried their best to work hard with the time we had, and everything came together well when we pushed each other to work harder.”
The night was full of challenges but also of many great memories. Ellie shares, “A memorable part was going against my sister when the freshmen went against the seniors,” She continues to say, “It was also really funny watching the boys trying to dance!”
In the end, Ellie explains how it was all worth it. She says, “I definitely will be participating in powderpuff again next year because I get to play with my friends and get more involved with the school.” The freshmen may not have won the game, but they did win an enjoyable night full of memories for the years to come!
