Michael Cerrato, a junior at Sunlake High School in the class of 2026, was introduced to First Priority by his friend Colton Willmore. Since joining, Michael has found the group to be an important part of his school experience. First Priority begins with a quick, lighthearted game to get everyone engaged and comfortable, followed by a discussion of Bible verses. Members explore the meaning of these verses and answer thought-provoking questions that deepen their understanding of faith. He stated, “In First Priority, we usually play a quick game then we go over bible verses and answer questions about the verses.” For Michael, the highlight of First Priority is the supportive environment it provides for students of the Christian faith. It’s a place where they can openly discuss their beliefs, learn from each other, and grow spiritually in a non-judgmental setting. He said, “My favorite thing about First Priority is that it gives Christian students a place to feel comfortable to talk about God and their faith in Jesus.” The ability to connect with peers who share similar values and beliefs has been both reassuring and uplifting for Michael. He appreciates how First Priority creates a sense of belonging and offers a comfortable space to reflect on God and faith in a way that’s relevant to students’ lives. Being part of a community that encourages spiritual growth has made First Priority a meaningful experience for him.
