Trenton Lindsey, a junior and a player on Sunlake’s football team, has been playing football for about four years now and his passion for the sport has only grown stronger. It all started with watching football with his family and seeing them get so excited, which made him wonder if he could do it too. “I was inspired by the community aspect, how it brings people together, and the thrill of competition” Trenton shares.
Playing football felt like a way to challenge himself both physically and mentally in a way he never had before. “From the first time I put on pads, I knew it was something I wanted to pursue.” Ever since he started to play football, his life has changed drastically. A very memorable part about playing football is the friendships made along the way. “Meeting new people and teammates has been an amazing experience for me,” he says. On days he doesn’t have practice, he usually does workouts and drills. “I will also go and get extra coaching from someone to further critique myself and help me improve,” he said. After a loss, it’s difficult to stay motivated, but staying focused and ready for the next game is the most important thing.
