Homecoming week is an exciting week that most students look forward to every year. Homecoming week includes many events, but one of the student body’s favorites is the dress-up days. Each day of the week consists of different dress-up themes, allowing students to show their creativity and school spirit by participating. Many students enjoy the atmosphere of the morning parade where each grade shows off their outfits and votes for the best outfits of the day. One of many students who enjoys the dress-up days is senior, John Feeney. John says he enjoys the “atmosphere and how much people love to show their school spirit, as well as the creativity portrayed.” For John, this year was special since it’s his last opportunity to participate so he wanted to “go all out.” When asked what his thoughts on this year’s parade and dress-up days were he answered saying that, “this year was by far the best one since I went all out, I believe that student council did their best but the teachers who were hosting it weren’t the best.” This year had been organized and planned out differently than the previous. Unlike previous years, Mr. Taylor did not participate in the parade and the stage was a lot smaller, which allowed only two classes to fit on it. Mr. Taylor not participating this year made it not the same for many students because he, “always brought the energy.” Senior Melissa Dahmer, when asked about her opinion on this year’s parade said that, “they were set up a little different in the morning, but considering the amount of change our councils endured, I am proud that we were able to put on a show despite the setbacks.” Though there were some differences from previous years, the week was still successful and fun, many students dressed up and enjoyed the homecoming week festivities.
