During Homecoming week Sunlake High School has an event that they do every year called Powderpuff. Powderpuff is an event where the guys do cheerleading while the girls play flag football. Each grade has their own teams and it was organized so that the sophomores played the juniors and the seniors played the freshmen. Boys powderpuff specifically came up with cheers to do while the girls played and during halftime they had a big dance routine they practiced and performed. Junior Ian Laari decided to do boys powderpuff because, “I have done it for the past two years already and it has been a very fun event.” When asked what was his favorite thing was and if he has anything he thinks he can improve, he said, “My favorite thing about it is to be able to do sideline cheers to support my class. However, there can be some improvements due to the organization about it. This is because during the beginning and the end, it got a little disorganized.” Ian really enjoys powderpuff and wants to participate in it again next year. “This event was much different than past years because this was the first year with our new student council advisor, so there were some new hiccups.” Despite these hiccups, the event was overall a great experience for the juniors and all the other classes.
