This year is sophomore Carli Dimeler’s first year on the Sunlake Junior Varsity Cheer Team. She just began her Sunlake cheer journey. The homecoming pep rally is one of the most loved events. She enjoyed cheering at the pep rally and showing the purpose of the event. Carli exclaimed, “it gets all the students excited about the football game and homecoming.” Her favorite thing to do in cheer is stunting. From a crowd point of view, it’s impressive to see people stunt. During the pep rally there were many different games going on which made for some competition between classes. Her favorite thing that happened was when musical chairs ended with the football team piling up. Another game that was going on was the balloon pop race which was when people were racing to pop the balloons. It was a close game between classes and the win solely depended on the candidates speed. The audience was laughing and cheering which made the energy and the vibe of the pep rally a fun experience for everyone involved. The pep rally was the kickoff for homecoming weekend and the last day of school for over a week due to Hurricane Milton, seahawks left on a good note.

About the Contributors
Hello, my name is Alexa Hemmers. I am a part of a group of new yearbook staffers as a sophomore. I enjoy writing for our school newspaper because each article will be about a different occasion, and we interview different people each time. My favorite things to do in my free time are run, go to the beach with my family and hanging out with my boyfriend and teammates. My teammates from Sunlake cross country and track are like family to me because some of us have known each other since sixth and seventh grade. I am excited to learn how to enhance my writing and construct the best yearbook filled with memories.
Ryan Carbonneau, Staffer
Hey, my name's Ryan Carbonneau and I work as a photographer and writer for The Perch and Sunlake's Yearbook production. I love music, writing, and (despite not being good at it) art. I'm really glad to be a part of a production that combines some of these things. I'm hoping to capture as much of the meaningful moments of the school year I can so when we look back, it's the good stuff we want to have physical reminders of. I'm excited to continue in the yearbook and newspaper here at Sunlake until senior year. I plan to go to UCF for college and major either in photography or statistics.
