This year a sophomore from Sunlake High School, Makenzie Nickerson played on her class’s Powderpuff team. The sophomores played against the juniors and freshman. Their first game was against the juniors and the score was 1-0. the second game they played against the freshmen and the score was also 1-0, but when they played against the freshmen their struggle was that they kept on having disagreements during the match. Makenzie stated that, “The coaches made us go over different plays and run them multiple times during practices, and then during the actual game they hyped us up and talked us through some new plays, while all the girls worked together during the match and we all hyped each other up.” She said that, “The loss made the team want to work harder so that the team could win more for our junior Powderpuff, even though we all work together really well, our goals are to keep playing together and working harder.” The potential reason for the other teams’ losses, was due to the fact the freshmen were more open than the sophomores were, and the juniors ran the ball more. Overall the sophomores played their hardest.
