On September 30th, Sunlake High School hosted its annual powderpuff. Powderpuff is an event where girls would practice flag football and boys would practice cheerleading. George Clark, a Senior at Sunlake who participated in Powderpuff for all four years states, “Powderpuff is a lot of work that no one on the outside sees, by the end of every practice we would be drenched in sweat. everyone worked hard over the past few months to learn the dances.” practices would normally be Monday, Thursday, and Friday ranging from one to two hours long, and it took all the participants over a month to learn all the dances. George’s favorite moment of powderpuff was during the end of their dance they all threw water in the air and became cheering, “It felt great, I loved performing for everyone and interacting with the whole crowd while the girls were playing football.” says George. Overall even though George and his friends were dancing, there was no room for embarrassment, as he was having fun on the field ending the dance by jumping over some of his friends as the finished finally.
