Skit is one of the most anticipated events of the school year. It is an opportunity for students to share their talent with their peers and create lasting memories from their high school experience. It’s not just a school event, but a night where friends and family gather and watch a performance that each class worked hard to put together. Makayla Edwards is a senior who was a cheerleader in skit. “I prepared by learning the dances and doing my makeup and hair during the performance, but it was a pretty easy role to prepare for.” Makayla shared.
On nights they had practice, they would all get together after school and learn their parts for the play. At times it was difficult to balance school and the play, but in the end, it was all worth it. “I didn’t think it was going to be sad, but I ended up being very sad because it was our last time as seniors being able to do skit night” she stated. Her favorite part of skit was being able to be with her friends and sharing the amazing experience with them. “I am so happy that I did skit, I loved getting to see all the other seniors in the senior walk, and just how emotional it was. They even had the parents do their own thing for skit and it was the cutest thing ever!” she exclaimed. Her advice to underclassmen wanting to participate in skit would be to just do it, no matter how embarrassing it might sound, it’s all worth it in the end.
