The girls volleyball team has had a successful season, and their latest accomplishment only continues to prove how incredible the team is. On October 23rd, the girls volleyball team won their game against Parrish High School, and on October 30th, they went to Regionals. Junior Lillian Gaskins is one of many talented members on the Varsity Volleyball Team, but Lillian didn’t experience the exciting regional game the same way her teammates did. “I sprained my ankle, and unfortunately I had to spend my time at regionals on the sidelines,” Lillian explained. Lillian was extremely proud of herself and more importantly, her team, for the work that they’ve done to get to Regionals. “The game on the 23rd obviously went really good. I was also on the sidelines there but I was cheering for my girls, I’m really proud of our work,” she explained. Since the team won and went to Regionals, they had the chance to beat their opponents at Regionals and go to States, and lucky for Lillian and her team, they did. “Regionals has always been sort of intimidating, even as somebody who wasn’t playing, I felt the stress and the pressure to get through the game and get to the finish line…” Lillian said. Overall, Lillian is overjoyed for her team and could not have asked for a better group of girls to pick her up, even when she wasn’t there to play.
