On October 26th, Sunlake High School transformed its track into a festive wonderland for the school’s annual Trick-or-Treat Around the Track event, bringing together students, teachers, and families in a morning of community spirit, candy, and creativity. This event, sponsored by student- and teacher-led clubs, offered a unique blend of fun activities, all organized and run by dedicated volunteers. Amari Williams, a Sunlake High senior, was one of those volunteers who committed her day to making this year’s event memorable. Representing the Black Student Union (BSU), Amari dedicated hours before and during the event to ensure everything went smoothly. “Yes, I showed up early to set up my club’s table, brought candy, and volunteered all day,” she shared. “I ran my club’s table and handed out candy.” While working at the BSU booth, she got to engage with trick-or-treaters of all ages. Her favorite part? “Seeing the kids in cute costumes,” she said with a smile. This wasn’t Amari’s first time helping during Trick-or-Treat Around the Track; she also volunteered last year. Her continued dedication reflects the event’s spirit of community, making it a cherished tradition at Sunlake. Through the efforts of passionate students like Amari and the support of faculty-led clubs, Sunlake High’s Trick-or-Treat Around the Track continues to provide a safe and joyous Halloween experience for all.
