On November 8th, 2024, the Boys’ Soccer Team at Sunlake High School played against Land O’ Lake’s High school’s team. A junior who plays on the team named Jairo Todd told me all about his experience and how the game went. First off, they started training and practicing two weeks before the game even started. He said, ” Seeing that we were playing a rival team, we knew this game was extra important and we tried our best to envision an outcome before the game and during warmups, but unfortunately the first half of the game was tough at certain points, because we knew we didn’t play at out best, but we would talk it out between each other giving our advice and affirmations to each other.” Even though it was their first game of the new season, they still did their absolute best and still were able to win no matter what set back or challenges they had. When asked if there were any key moments that he believed influenced the outcome of the match, he responded with, “Our forwards were very successful. In the first ten to twenty minutes we got our first two goals. We also stood our ground majority of the game and playing more uniformly in the second half.” No matter what challenges the soccer team faces, they recover and do their absolute best!
