The stands where packed as the senior football players got ready for their last football night. This was more than just a game, it was a celebration of years worth of hard work. Senior Matthew Gorden is a hardworking football player who participated in this unforgettable night. “The most memorable moment I’ve experienced was senior night because it truly felt like a special moment, even coming out with the win,” he shared. Throughout the years Matthew has faced many challenges, but those challenges turned into determination. “I faced many obstacles, such as fear, doubt, and anxiety but the way I overcame that was doing the best I can so that I can say I put 100% effort everyday” Matthew stated.
His way of balancing school and sports was doing all his work in class and catching up on e-school. “My advice to underclassmen is would be to have fun and try new things such as sports and clubs and to make the best out of it because 4 years can fly by fast!” Matthew said. The parents and friends there on this night where equally as emotional. “I’m gonna miss the family that I am leaving behind and the crowd cheering us on every game, and the chills it gave me,” he said. This night marked the end of an era, and cheers to new beginnings.
