Taylor Vogt, a student at Sunlake High School, has a passion for soccer that other people do not. Usually in sports, people are nervous, especially at important games and events. Things could go right or wrong, it is always unpredictable, but what everyone can be sure about is people will always learn and get better from it, victory or not. The game against Berkeley Prep was no different for Taylor, she was feeling excited but also nervous, she said, “During the game against Berkeley prep, I felt a mix of excitement and a bit of nervousness because it was the first game of the season.”
However, all these feelings do not stay forever, usually these feelings help people concentrate and even make them want to do better. In Taylor’s experience, the feelings become lighter during the game. “Once I got into the flow of it my nervousness went away,” she said. Also contributing to the team is always very exciting, the feeling of knowing that everything is going as planned, and the team is doing good. People get happy, especially when they contribute. Scoring goals at the game made Taylor feel happy, but that first goal, she knew it was the best. “My favorite part of the game was definitely the part when I scored my first goal of the season.” She had a lot of fun in general and as always, learned from the game so she can do better in the future.
