Rod Wave

Rodarius Marcel Green is a rapper and singer who has changed a huge section of the music industry for many people. Rod Wave spills out his hurt and pain from his past out into his music, which causes many people to relate and know they aren’t alone. For those who do not know of Rodarius Marcell Green and what he does, this article should help you understand his story.

Rod Wave’s childhood and what he has gone through is a crazy character-building process. Many people find how he takes his trauma and struggles from the past and incorporates it into his music to be very inspiring, because it helps those out there who are going through similar things. Rod lived with his mother when his parents were divorced, and while his father was in jail. It caused weight on him that is hard for most to go through, especially because his family was having financial issues, and some involvement in the streets. He lost his cousin, who was his best friend to cancer, and recently he lost his uncle Dee. The significance of each of them is that they were his biggest supporters, And uncle Dee always looked out for Rod, so the deaths were traumatic for him.

Rod’s career officially started in 2015, although his youngest age he performed was at the age of 9. Rod would also freestyle and rap in his younger years of high school. In 2015, Rod won an Alamo record for his Hunger Games trilogy. In this trilogy, was his very first hit, “Heart On Ice.” Many people believe that this song is extremely relatable and very well written, and it helped shoot Rod to fame. After Rod saw so much of a hit, he realized could really make himself into a well-known rapper. He kept writing, and soon after the trilogy, he dropped his album PSTD, which was also considered an amazing album from the Rod Wave.

Rod Wave’s past album that dropped on October 10th 2024, “Last Lap,” was an extremely impactful album of his. This album covered the loss of Uncle Dee as well as having mentions of his cousin Dejah. There were also songs written about his love for his children’s mother, and how it is disappearing. He speaks on his pain with his losses, but he won’t hurt himself because of his twin daughters being his everything. This album also climbed to the #1 spot of album of the year, meaning that it passed a Taylor Swift album.

The moral of this was that if you don’t like Rod Wave then at least try to listen and understand what is being sang by him instead of trying to being like others just to hate on him, or to fit in. Rodarius Marcel Green is one amazing man and he deserves nothing but the best so I believe that everyone should show him love.
