During the week of 11/4-11-8, the Sunlake Varsity Boys Soccer Team played their first official season at home against Land O’ Lakes High School. Senior, Julien Lewis, is a starting left center back for the team. This is his second year being on the team. When asked, “What is one thing you are looking forward to this year?” he said, “This year I’m looking forward to districts and going all the way with the team. I think we have the potential to win anything.” In previous years the boys varsity soccer team has done really well. Last year, they made it to the Regional Semi-Finals and the year before that they made it to the Regional Finals. Julien decided to play high school soccer this year because, “I want to play with my friends since we’re always a good team. This is my second time playing for soccer.” Boys soccer just got new a coaching staff; their new coach is a woman named Danielle Fotopoulos, and their assistant coach is Lee Brett. Julien thinks the season will go well and, “that we will dominate once again.” The team’s next game is Wednesday, December 4th against Jesuit away at Jesuit High School.
