Every year Sunlake has tryouts for JV and varsity girls soccer. Sunlake was lucky to have enough people tryout for soccer to be able to have a JV team because a lot of schools this year couldn’t make a JV team cause of not enough players. JV stands for junior varsity. During the week of 11/11 – 11/15, JV girls soccer had a game at 4:30 at Sunlake against Land O’ Lakes high school. They won 7-2 and sophomore Taylor Vogt score 3 goals in soccer it’s called a hat-trick. When asked , “Why did you choose to play on the school team this year? What’s your favorite part of being on the team?” Taylor said, “I chose to play on the Sunlake soccer team this year because it gives me an opportunity to get better as a player on and off field. My favorite thing about the team is the environment because everyone is so nice and I can be myself around everyone.” JV does specific things before their games to get them locked in and prepared for games so they can get the best results. She also said, “My position I play for school soccer is right wing and I think our season will go great this year.”
