Last week, a new club started, The Hispanic Honor’s Society. One member, sophomore Katyayani Chauhan, stated that, “I was motivated to join the Hispanic Honor’s Society because it would help me better understand the Spanish culture, get better at speaking Spanish, listen to someone speak a different language, and get more involved after school.” She was asked how she found out about the club opening, and she said, “There were posters in my Spanish class, and around the school.” One amazing part about this club is that every Thursday the club provides tutoring, so some members of the society that speak Spanish can help those who don’t, also they will go on field trips throughout the year that help the members learn more about the culture. Katyayani exclaimed, “I will tell all the students looking to join that it is a welcoming and open community, it will help you improve your Spanish, and it will, for a fact, help you understand the culture better.” If you ever want to join, you should. This society can help make a difference in the school community because you can help people understand the diversity in the cultures around our school, learn a new language, and develop new relationships that can help them in the future.
