Thanksgiving is a special holiday where friends and families gather together and give thanks to the things they are thankful for. Thanksgiving is very meaningful to senior, Hope Hodges. Thanksgiving is special to Hope because it is a time where she can reflect on the things she’s grateful for. She spends Thanksgiving at her aunt’s house every year, “with a morning breakfast leading into a late afternoon thanksgiving dinner.” Hope not only spends Thanksgiving with her family, but friends that are considered family. Her family friends are from her childhood or people her uncle has met through the military. Hope’s family has a fun Thanksgiving tradition where they gather in a circle and each say what they are grateful for. Hope said, “I’m most thankful for my wonderful friends and family, they are the most supportive people in my life.” Not only is Thanksgiving about giving thanks but it’s also about spending time with the people you love. Hope’s favorite Thanksgiving memory is when she and her family and friends played a game of blindfolding each other, taking a spatula and trying to scoop marshmallows from the table into a bowl to see how many they could get. Spending time with family and friends and making new memories is always very special. This is why Thanksgiving is so cherished and special to so many people. At the end of the day, you can enjoy the company of others, give thanks, and make memories.

Katie Kraszka, Staffer
My name is Katie Kraszka, and I am a sophomore at Sunlake! This is my first year as a staffer for the 2024-2025 yearbook and school newspaper. I love writing stories about the students at our school and any events we have here. I love spending time with my friends, family and going to the gym. I am excited to work on more articles as the year continues and learn more about what goes into our school's yearbook!
