How much TV do you watch? Adults and teenagers have different opinions on the amount of TV a person should watch. I interviewed 2 teenagers and two adults to compare how much TV they watch.
In an interview with the first teenager Zoey, I asked the question ”How much TV do you watch?”. She replied with “A lot, probably 40 hours a week.” I then asked the second teenager Holly this same question and they answered with “about 10 hours”. I followed up with the question “Why do you watch that amount of TV?” Zoey said because she’s bored and it’s something fun for her to do. Holly said she prefers to do other activities. My next question was ”How much TV do you think is unhealthy? “Zoey said more than 10 hours a day. Holly answered with “it’s unhealthy only when you’re multi-tasking while watching TV”. My last question was “Who do you think watches more TV adults or teens and why?” Zoey said, “adults because they grew up with TV and are more addicted.” Holly answered with “teens because they have less responsibility and with more free time.” Teenagers are very different from adults and have different opinions which is why I went ahead and interviewed two adults.
As I interviewed two adults I asked the same exact questions. My first question was “How much TV do you watch?” The first adult, Ms. Hotch, said with 2 to 3 hours. The second adults my dad replied with “around 4 hours”. I then asked both of them “Why that amount of time?” Ms. Hotch said to relax and to have it in the background while falling asleep while my dad said there is nothing else to do. For my 3rd question both “How much TV do you think is unhealthy?” Ms. Hotch stated ”TV is unhealthy as long as you’re not watching it everyday” while my dad said ”If that’s the only thing you do then it’s unhealthy”. For my last question I asked, “Who watches more TV adults or teens and why?” Ms. Hotch said adults, with her explanation being “adults were raised on TV while teens today are more raised on short videos”. However, my dad said teens because they have more free time. In these interviews the responses had similar but different answers showing teenagers and adults have things in common but have different lifestyles and responsibilities which affect how much TV they watch.
