Cross county is a considered a fall sport at Sunlake high school. They start practicing in august and their season ends about end of November. Cross country is a long distance running sport that takes place in a natural outdoor setting. Our cross country team this year was a very sold strong team and had a pretty good performance overall. Junior Amber Clifton has been on the team for 2 years. When i asked her, “How did your season go this year? What was the best part about your season?” she said, “Our season didn’t go as expected with unexpected drawbacks but we still managed to push through although we didn’t get the results we hoped for. The best part of the season was making it to regionals although we were at a disadvantage.” Cross country had their banquet on December 5th in the cafeteria to celebrate their achievements and success for this season. Amber said, “My favorite part of the banquet was awards, I enjoyed watching my teammates be recognized for their hard work and accomplishments. The banquet went over our ups and downs of the season and highlighted our achievement as a team.” Amber also said out of the whole season her favorite meet was, “The JT memorial night race.”
