Junior Adrienne Martin is on the Sunlake girls’ basketball team. Her favorite part about being on the team is that it feels like a genuine community. Adrienne said, “These girls became true friends, and the coaches are the best coaches I’ve had all my years of playing.” She joined basketball because her dad told her she had what it takes, and she always wanted to be a part of a sport. Adrienne said basketball is important because, “I feel it gave me a routine and it’s made me so much stronger. It also connected me to my dad who helped me so much along the way.” Basketball has truly made an impact on Adrienne and is such an important part of her life. The girls varsity team went up against Brookes Debartolo Collegiate High School and had an amazing win. Sunlake was up by two at the end of the first half, but at the end, Sunlake won by 23. The girls varsity team is very dedicated to their sport and they are extremely hard working. Adrienne said her strength is definitely defense. She explained, “I can confidently guard almost anyone.” Her favorite memory from basketball was, “getting two blocks in a row and hearing the crowd cheer for me.” The girls basketball team is such a close group, and they always work hard to win. Adrienne explained, “Even if we lose, we come back to practice with a clean mindset.” The team always brings their strengths together to get a victory. Overall, they work hard, work together, and have fun.

Katie Kraszka, Staffer
My name is Katie Kraszka, and I am a sophomore at Sunlake! This is my first year as a staffer for the 2024-2025 yearbook and school newspaper. I love writing stories about the students at our school and any events we have here. I love spending time with my friends, family and going to the gym. I am excited to work on more articles as the year continues and learn more about what goes into our school's yearbook!
Ryan Carbonneau, Staffer
Hey, my name's Ryan Carbonneau and I work as a photographer and writer for The Perch and Sunlake's Yearbook production. I love music, writing, and (despite not being good at it) art. I'm really glad to be a part of a production that combines some of these things. I'm hoping to capture as much of the meaningful moments of the school year I can so when we look back, it's the good stuff we want to have physical reminders of. I'm excited to continue in the yearbook and newspaper here at Sunlake until senior year. I plan to go to UCF for college and major either in photography or statistics.
