Junior Naomi Lammers is a part of Sunlake High School’s Creative Writing Club. Naomi and her friends started the creative writing club. During the meetings, they write, brainstorm ideas, read each other’s work, and give feedback on improving and becoming stronger writers. Naomi stated, “I love writing. I use it as a way to unwind and love that this club gives me the time to do it. It’s also great to be able to have peers who can give me constructive criticism.” Naomi wishes that more people would join the club. The club is still a very new thing so it is still a work in progress hopefully as the weeks go on more and more people will reach out to join the creative writing club. When asked about one of the most difficult parts of starting a club, Naomi stated that, “It’s a very new club, so we don’t have a lot of people yet. Also, writing is very personal to many people, so they can be apprehensive about joining a club and sharing their thoughts. That makes it difficult for us to find new members.” Naomi has hopes that more people will join, and that they can expand the club.
