During the week 1/6-1/12, the girls soccer team for Sunlake high school had a game on Wednesday against River Ridge High School at the Nest. So far, it has been a successful season for the lady Seahawks. Junior Kylie Hudgins plays outside back and center back for the team. She has been on the team since her freshman year, so this is her third year on the team. Kylie has been an important part of the team and a crucial asset for the team’s defense. When asked about why she wanted to play high school soccer she said, “I joined the team because I thought it would be fun playing for my school and getting a break from club soccer.” Her freshman year the girls soccer team went all the way to the State Final Four and her sophomore year they made it to the Regional Finals. For this year, she said she hopes that, “We make it back to the Final Four and get the win to make be able to make it to the States Final.” They won 3-0 in the game against River Ridge, with goals by Adia Symmonds and Kayla Bays. This game was a conference game and the win will help the Seahawks be able to be seeded well when districts start up. To finish, Kylie said, “I am really excited to finish off this season with success, especially getting ready to play my senior year.”
