For Katie Kraszka, Sophomore, Thanksgiving is all about “giving thanks and spending time with family and friends.” Every year, her family has a special tradition of gathering at her aunts house for a big dinner. Unlike many families, Katie’s doesn’t go for the traditional turkey; instead, they enjoy ham and stuffing, which has become her favorite thanksgiving dish. “My family doesn’t like turkey, so every year we have ham,” she says. One of Katies most memorable Thanksgiving experiences was “having dinner with cousins, then watching movies and playing board games.” It is the moments of gathering that makes the holiday so special for her. Thanksgiving, for Katie, is a time to “reflect on the blessings” in her life and to appreciate the people who have made a positive impact on her. “Its a day filled with love. gratitude, and cherished memories,” Katie says.
