Christmas is the time for joy, celebration, and making memories. Meghan Whimbley, a junior at Sunlake, spent Christmas on a trip to Georgia. When she got there, she stayed in the mountains with her family. “The most memorable part of my Christmas was the absolutely beautiful view of the mountains and the lakes. I also won a gingerbread house building contest against my family members, which was very fun as a competitive person!” Meghan shared.
On Christmas, she usually celebrates it at home with her family, opening presents in the morning with dinner later, but this year it was more special. “I received my favorite gift this year, which was the trip to Georgia. I used to live in Tennessee, so I used to see mountains everyday. The trip kind of reminded me of my childhood,” she said. Christmas is a very important holiday for Meghan because of how joyful and meaningful it is to her. “To me, Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, and it is meant to be spent loving others and bettering ourselves for the new year to come,” she adds, “It is my favorite holiday because I get to see the excitement of other people as they open gifts, and seeing others happy makes me happy.”
