Every now and again, we have a pep rally to celebrate our student athletes. They put in so much extra time and effort into the sports they love to bring home wins and push the limits we know they can break. One of those students in attendance was junior Meaghan Ballard.
As a former track and cross country runner, Meaghan knows how it is to push the limits placed in front of her. She, “hopes the teams do well,” as their seasons continue on. Meaghan is, “looking forward to the next semester,” and what it has in store for not only our athletes, but our student body as well. The second semester is a chance to start new for our students. New sports seasons begin, and classes introduce new content as well as giving opportunities to raise the first semester’s grades and raise our GPAs, so we can soar right into the next step of our lives. Meaghan is, “undecided” on what she wants to do after high school, but she knows that the next step she wants to take involves, “going to college somewhere in state,” which the next semester will help her achieve. The winter sports pep rally serves as a sign that the next semester is truly a time to keep our heads up and keep doing as good as we can until the end of the year comes and we get to begin the next step, whether it’s here at Sunlake, out at college, or in the work force, getting the hands-on experience that suits you.
Regardless of the path you choose, it starts here at school. This semester, make sure we put our best foot forward and do the best we can to finish the year on a high note. We can’t wait to see what our students have in store for us this semester and beyond.
