Senior Giselle Alcala is a member of the Sunlake book club. In the book club members join together for meetings twice a quarter, where they vote and select a book to read. They also have activities based on the book, this includes escape rooms and jeopardies. In the book club you get to read four books in a year, meaning one book per quarter. This is an amazing club to join if you love books and sharing your opinions about books with a close group of people. Giselle said, “Books have always been a nice escape from reality for me and I like that there’s a club for people who also enjoy reading.” Giselle and the other students in the club love sharing their passion for reading and discussing the books they read in depth. Giselle said her favorite part of book club is reading different books that follow the same themes of the meetings, getting to enjoy reading with a close group of people, and being in a club that always makes everyone’s day and is full of laughter. Her favorite book that she has read in the club is Better Than the Movies by Lynn Painter. Giselle said people should join the book club because, “It’s so much fun, from the activities to the books.” There are snacks, games, discussions in the books and the officers of the club are amazing and so nice. The book club is very inclusive and if you are someone who loves reading books and sharing ideas with people, this club is the club for you. There is never a dull moment in this club and the book selection is always amazing.

Katie Kraszka, Staffer
My name is Katie Kraszka, and I am a sophomore at Sunlake! This is my first year as a staffer for the 2024-2025 yearbook and school newspaper. I love writing stories about the students at our school and any events we have here. I love spending time with my friends, family and going to the gym. I am excited to work on more articles as the year continues and learn more about what goes into our school's yearbook!
