One-third of the population of dogs worldwide end up either missing or lost. That’s equivalent to about 300 million dogs in today’s population and communities. Each day, increasing amounts of pets go missing globally, and many people don’t seem to care. That’s why pet companies and organizations focus on pet protection and health so that their community can help improve the world internationally. Establishments like these are what the world needs most, so why not try to continue making the necessary changes that can improve lives?
In ushering terms, a great organization many pet supporters look up to is the Animal Foundation Society (AFS). This operation strives to help, care for, and find lost dogs that require assistance. For instance, a direct quote from the CEO Hilarie Grey claims, “I started my whole company so that the lives of dogs, cats, lizard, fish, and so forth; can live a happy and eventful life without any worries of being abandoned, forgotten, or disregarded.” (Grey, Animal Foundation). Doesn’t Hilarie’s quote strive for you to act upon this global regulation? These animals need and seek help, and Ms. Grey has offered a great opportunity for people to act on this upsetting problem.

Furthermore, there are many possibilities that the Animal Organization can offer for you and others to take action. To illustrate, some opportunities offered by the company include volunteering, adopting, recovering, and finding lost or confused animals. The (AFS) company states, “Volunteering is a major part of our organization’s motto. For every volunteer, we as a community end up making more money so that we can save more pet’s lives, so don’t be afraid to volunteer today and help our establishment grow larger.” (Other ways to give, AFS). This quote demonstrates the AFS’s appreciation towards people who strive and take the time to listen to what problems are happening in today’s society.
Opposingly, although companies like the AFS encourage people to act upon global malfunctions, not many people seem to take charge or stop to think about today’s associated difficulties. Now, you may be wondering, why would someone not be willing to help if there is an animal in need? A recent article about why people don’t follow through with helping pets states, “When most people see a stray dog or cat on the street, they automatically feel bad for them, but tend to do nothing and just stare. This may be due to personality traits, lack of interest in the situation, lack of connection towards the animal, and selfishness. Over 62 percent of Americans tend to disregard a lost or homeless animal on the streets.” (Pet-statistics, ASPCA). Pets shouldn’t be looked at as an option, they should be cared for and looked at as a solution, a solution that strives to create equality between the pet community and the human race. I mean, if you were to see a homeless person and a stray dog, who would you feel bad for more? Well, that’s based on what type of person you are.
So you see, animals need our help to make sure that they are protected and feel safe. It doesn’t matter if your neighbor doesn’t support animal safety or if your parents don’t like to help animals in need, all that matters is that you take the time to make a change in today’s world. So don’t be afraid to try and help others, go out and do some volunteering or go and spread the word of animal security, because, as the AFS states, “Throw a bone for a dog so they can chase it, not so that you can abandon them.” (Animal Safety, ASF).
