A lot of kids can not wait to be able to drive. Most students see it as the first step to freedom. This also goes for junior Luis Nuñez who recently got his permit back in March of this year. “I really enjoy driving, because it is pretty relaxing. I think that once I am able to drive I will be a little bit more free, as my parents will not have to drive me everywhere.” A lot of people, especially teenagers, seem to use cars and the ability to drive, not just as a way to feel for free, but also a way to escape reality to an extent and be able to chill out and relax.

There is a lot of pros and cons to being able to drive. Luis says that the best thing about having his permit “is that it allows me to learn the rules of the road and be a safe driver with a guardian in the car.” It’s obvious that being a safe driver is the most important thing to learn while having a permit. It creates a chance for people new to driving to learn everything by actually driving on the roads with someone’s guidance, not just watching or reading about the proper things to do. “I would like to get my license as soon as possible” is what Luis had to say about when he planned on getting his license. Hopefully he will have it near March of next year.

A thing a lot of kids think of when they start driving is what kind of car they drive. A lot of kids prioritize driving a type of car that they like. Luis said “My dream car has always been an ice-cream truck. It is so fascinating to me how a truck has ice-cream in the back.”
