Skylar Graffam, Junior, is an awesome student-athlete at Sunlake and she is super excited for the start of the new girls’ flag football team. Beyond her dedication to the field, Skylar’s leadership extends to the whole Sunlake community. Skylar shows this through her dedication to the school’s Hawkeye spirit club, which requires commitment to school pride and teamwork, reflecting her yearn to be an awesome teammate on the football field. She’s a role model for her peers, balancing academic awesomeness with athletics.
Skylar and her family have always had a passion for sports, especially football. Of course, when she heard that Sunlake was putting together a girls’ flag football team, she was ecstatic! “I was extremely eager to tryout when I heard. Football has always been a large part of my family’s life, so I wanted to be able to come into that! I feel confident about the season, I’m surrounded by great coaches and overachieving players!” Skylar has always been super motivated and ambitious, saying “Although it’s our first year, we want to make states! This team is already history so we want to take it as far as we can go.” Skylar is super excited to watch the new sport grow, saying “I one-hundred percent plan on playing flag football next year”.
All in all, Skylar is super excited to be playing on Sunlake’s new girls’ flag football team. Her passion for the sport is evident, and she is super excited to see what happens as the season unfolds. Not to mention, she is so excited to get to be a part of this historical new team, a landmark for growth in women’s sports at the high school level.
