ASL club is a new club here at Sunlake where students engage in fun activities to immerse themselves in a deaf friendly environment and to help students better understand the deaf community. Junior Keely Fink is the club’s president and her role is to “…prepare power points and help come up with what the club will do at each meeting.” Keely describes the meetings as “…a lot of fun” as they play many games and have other activities that “…revolve around deaf culture and signing.” Since it is a smaller club, it really feels like a family and the best part in Keely’s eyes are “…how people who care about the language and culture are able to connect” with others who share the same interest. The club is always looking for new members to teach ASL (American Sign Language) and get them active in a supportive community.

Noah Downey, Staffer
My name is Noah Downey and this year is my first as a staffer on yearbook! I love being involved around Sunlake, I am the current Vice President for the Class of 2025, Hawkeye President, a member of NHS, Key Club, FBLA, First Priority, and previously was the SADD website coordinator. I’m super excited to be a part of yearbook to help document these special years!

Ryan Carbonneau, Staffer
Hey, my name’s Ryan Carbonneau and I work as a photographer and writer for The Perch and Sunlake’s Yearbook production. I love music, writing, and (despite not being good at it) art. I’m really glad to be a part of a production that combines some of these things. I’m hoping to capture as much of the meaningful moments of the school year I can so when we look back, it’s the good stuff we want to have physical reminders of. I’m excited to continue in the yearbook and newspaper here at Sunlake until senior year. I plan to go to UCF for college and major either in photography or statistics.
