On Thursday, the varsity baseball team played against Wiregrass High School and beat them with the score of 2-0. This was the fifth game of their season. The team has won more games than lost, and everyone hopes to keep this trend going throughout this spring season. Senior Thomas Hoye has played baseball throughout high school and going into this game he said that he was “…feeling pretty confident but also locked in.” Tommy and the team knew that Wiregrass would not be an easy opponent making it a fun challenge. When asked how the win against Wiregrass felt, Tommy responded, “It felt awesome, they’re always a tough game so getting this win was a big confidence boost for us.” To celebrate this win, the team went out to eat at Chili’s afterwards to enjoy the win together. This being Tommy’s last season of high school baseball, he is most looking forward to winning districts. That is his main goal and he believes that the team has what it takes to make it happen this year.
