The Sunlake boys Soccer team won their quarterfinal game with a last-minute goal in overtime! The win was led up by an intense match, as the Seahawks were going up against a big rival. Senior Matias Gonzalez said, “The biggest challenge the opposing team gave us was that we weren’t able to score until overtime.” Despite such a tough match he describes how it felt good to win!
The boys Soccer team wouldn’t have such a great season without each other. Matias explained, “My favorite part of playing soccer for Sunlake is the people on the team. I love every single one of them, they are like family to me.” Playing with such a close-knit team made their performance on the field even stronger.
Matias teammates aren’t the only family pushing him to work harder. He said, “My dad has played his whole life so it motivates me to play in mine.” Soccer at Sunlake is not the finish line for Matias as he will always keep the sport with him throughout his life!
